A condominium is an individually owned housing unit in a multi-unit building. It is also a type of real estate that is divided into several units that are separately owned but it is also surrounded by common areas that are jointly owned.
Residential condominiums are constructed as multifamily buildings. Unlike apartments which are leased by their tenants, a condominium is solely owned by the outright owner.
The difference between a condominium from a single family house is the privacy of the place.
